September 21, 2024 — A woman from Louisiana who was burned by an Ambiano Pressure Cooker has filed a lawsuit against ALDI and the manufacturers.
A pressure cooker lawsuit has been filed in Louisiana Federal Court on behalf of a woman and her partner who were both severely burned.
On February 21, 2023, they were both burned when the lid on an Ambiano 9-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker “suddenly and unexpectedly exploded off the pressure cooker,” their lawsuit alleges.
The lawsuit was filed by Jahsheia G., a resident of Ruston, Louisiana. She blames the manufacturer and retailer ALDI for selling a defective and unreasonably dangerous pressure cooker.
She is seeking damages for pain and suffering, medical expenses, physical pain, mental anguish, and diminished enjoyment of life.
ALDI and many other pressure cooker retailers and manufacturers have been hit by at least 700 lawsuits involving people who were burned when scalding-hot food, liquid, or steam blew out of the pot.
These lawsuits claim that safety features “failed to…prevent the lid from being removed with normal force while the unit remained pressurized,” which puts consumers and bystanders in danger.
Her pressure cooker lawsuit was filed on February 14, 2024 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana — Case Number 3:24-cv-00212-TAD-KDM.
