May 2025 — SharkNinja has recalled more than 1.8 million Ninja Pressure Cookers after 106 burn injury reports and dozens of lawsuits were filed nationwide.
The problem is that the lid may not lock properly, allowing users to open the pressure cooker while it is still pressurized. This can eject the scalding-hot contents onto anyone nearby, causing burn injuries.
There were 106 reports of burn injuries, including more than 50 severe burns to the face or body that may result in disfigurement or scarring:
“SharkNinja has received 106 reports of burn injuries, including more than 50 reports of second- or third-degree burns to the face or body, with 26 lawsuits filed.”
The recall involves all Ninja Foodi OP300-Series Multi-Function 6.5-Quart Pressure Cookers and TenderCrisp Air Fryers, which are products that combine a pressure cooker and an air fryer into one unit.
The pressure cookers are black with the name “Ninja” on the front. The recall involves model numbers that start with OP300, for example:
- OP300
- OP301
- OP301A
- OP302
- OP302BRN
- OP302HCN
- OP302HAQ
- OP302HW
- OP302HB
- OP305
- OP305CO
- OP350CO
They were sold at Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, Amazon and Target stores nationwide, and online from January 2019 through March 2025 for about $200.
SharkNinja is urging customers to immediately stop using the pressure cooker and register for a free lid replacement. For more information, visit: https://www.rqa-inc.com/client/SharkNinja/.
