October 9, 2025 — Ambiano Pressure Cookers from ALDI have been recalled after 8 people were severely burned when they opened the lid and the hot contents of the pot blew out.
Tempo International (USA) Inc. has announced a recall for about 46,660 Ambiano Pressure Cookers that were sold at ALDI stores.
There were 11 reports of incidents where a consumer was able to open the pressure cooker before it was fully depressurized, including 8 reports of “severe burns,” according to the recall.
The manufacturer warned:
“The pressure-cooker lid can be opened before sufficient steam pressure has been released, causing hot contents to escape and posing a risk of burn injuries to consumers.”
If the lid of a pressure cooker is opened while the unit is still pressurized, it can suddenly release the built-up pressure trapped inside the unit and eject a scalding-hot cloud of steam, liquid or food.
The recall involves all Ambiano Electric Pressure Cookers with pots in either 6-quart or 8-quart sizes, with the following model numbers:
- Model Number 93550 (KY-318B)
- Model Number 96775 (KY-318A)
- Model Number 98527 (6L-PC)
They were sold at ALDI retail stores nationwide between January 2016 and December 2019 for about $40.
The manufacturer is urging consumers to immediately stop using the recalled pressure cookers and contact ALDI or Tempo USA for a full refund. You can return the pressure cooker to any ALDI for a refund.
